My goal is to create a kind of swift kick in the face call to action with paper weaving - a kind of Anni Albers meets Sheppard Fairy. I reduce text and meanings to their basic parts in order to provide the viewer with a different reading of the theme. By harnessing the more feminine technique of an old craft while weaving the voices and concerns of current affairs, it is my hope to create awareness of current issues – political injustices, gun reform, women’s rights, voting - through an innovative form of weaving as activism.
